Eat The Stick

I want to know who worked out that the wooden lolly stick is 2 calories? Wonder if it's ingredients are listed? Is the stick gluten free? Is it suitable for Vegetarians?

Faux-Wii

I knew you could get the faux Chinese Wii called the Vii, but this is the first poor knock off I've seen in the UK. It look's ok I guess from the box art, but it only plays the games pre-loaded onto the laughably written "3rd generation, 16 bit console". I only hope no one buys one expecting a Wii, as there children will be sorely disappointed.

Sexual Intercorsa

Only in Essex could you see a car like this :) so funny :-) made all the better by the shocked reactions from Naomi's mum and step-dad :-)

Must-own

In this day and age of expensive petrol a Mustang is not the car to own. A true "gas guzzling" American muscle car... I've always fancied a Shelby Cobra version... Perhaps one day I'll be rich enough :)

Wide Load

Always amazes me when you see stuff like this being moved on the road. Being an engineer I suppose makes me curious... Which is why I look at this and not only go "wow look at that"... But also "what the hell is it?".

Turns out it was all night

Well that was comfortable... Had to sleep on the ultra hard foam mattress all night. Nomi took to curlin up on the end like a cat... Thank god she's small and bendy :-) was wired up to all manner of machinery as well... Looked like I was plugged into the matrix!

Nomi's been a real rock for me, keeping my spirits up whilst I've been here tied to a table. I took my DS with me to kill time, but we just ended up talking all night. She even fed me some jerky and crisps. I couldn't think of a better nurse to be honest :-)

Finally The Neck Brace is Off

Well after 8 hours the neck brace is off... Thank goodness. Tho I'm still stuck here in observation for the foreseeable future :-( at least I can bet comfortable. Unfortunately the best they can offer Nomi is a plastic school chair. Hopefully I'm not here all night.

CT Scanner

Not content with normal x-rays I'm now being bundled in a CT Scanner... I may start to glow in the dark soon. This machine was pretty weird... As I went through it a big ring inside it rotated really quickly to scan me. Felt like I was going through the Stargate!

Waiting

Not that I was getting impatient waiting (Little too worried to think about the time), but Nomi thought this'd make a funny photo :-)

Super Powers Please

Now off to get x-rayed... Plenty of shots taken... So much so I should be developing super powers. Sadly my efforts to go green and tear my shirt off haven't worked.

Nurse was nice and talkative, I was asking plenty of engineering questions about the machinery to keep me from going insane from being strapped down.

Drugs Please

Now I don't feel like they're doing anything... But after the amount of drugs they made me pop... And one injection I should be pain free. Probably not doing much as I'm in so much pain from lying totally flat on a thin sheet of foam.

Now if only I could've been taken to the body shop too...

... I'd ask for a new one. After soldiering on with a nice big adrenaline rush to keep me going I noticed some whiplash pain, nothing to worry about I thought... Then I tried to change gear, with an arm that now feels like lead. Cue hospital and a neck brace. Oh what fun.

Rear Ended - Car Woes Continue

Well instead of back to the garage for engine work now my car will be in for body work.

I was stationary at a roundabout waiting to merge in. And was hit on the drivers side rear wing probably at about 30... Not good... It's bent the wing in past the boot seal by about an inch. Hopefully it's not a write off... But It is a worry for me until I can get a body shop to look at it.

To open or not to open, that is the question.

Nomi bought me these a while ago, one for our 6 month anniversary and the other for Christmas. I've sadly not had the room to really put them on display (as my room was cluttered with other peoples stuff) now I've managed to get a bit of normality back there's still no room to put them up boxed... But there is unboxed... Oh dilemma :-(

Barge Racing

According to my mate Paul there's going to be a barge race in Gravesend. I do love sailing ships... Guess there's a wanabe pirate in all of us :-)

American Import?

This guy must really love his car. To import it all the way from the US must've nearly cost as much as buying a new one. I could've understood if it was some American muscle car... But a VW Golf?

Faulty Lambda Sensor

Yesterday I took my car in to have the fault diagnosed... the cars on-board computer reported a faulty Lambda sensor behind the Catalytic Converter. While not the earth to replace it can be a mare to get too (Cabling for it is behind the centre console) so my car goes back to the garage again Monday for maybe a day or two :-(

Wednesday 2 July 2008

You have got to be yanking my chain!

Car woes yet again... my car went in to check out why it was burning so much oil last week, suffice to say it was fixed and I was told "should be alright now... if it goes again sod it I'll put a new engine in for free". Those words filled me with confidence, as rarely does a mechanic offer to do anything for free.

5 days later (Only 3 of them I drove it) and back comes the cursed orange light of doom... back to the garage tonight... why does it always do this to me when I really need it!

Cue the doom song:

Will post again when I know more and aren't hammering the keyboard like it's its fault.
